Project Description:

This 250,000 sq. ft. (180,000 sq. ft. supported), precast concrete parking structure is intended to provide 850 parking spaces to support a major multi-use downtown redevelopment project for the city of Washington, PA central business district. Significant architectural design features include the use of brick-faced panels at prominent locations and expansive use of glass in the stair elevator towers. Carl Walker Construction (CWC) was awarded the project on a design/build basis through a formal competition that evaluated proposals on a two-part evaluation: 1) how effectively defined design criteria were met and 2) price. Points were awarded on an equal-weight basis for each category, with the project awarded to the proposal with the most total points. CWC won both categories and was awarded the project.
