West Virginia Lottery Building Parking Garage

CWC received the contract for the West Virginia Lottery building parking garage in 2016. We served as subcontractor to Maynard Smith Construction out of Charleston, WV. MS was contracted by the state to perform upgrades to three floors of the building along with the repair of the parking garage to safely accommodate additional vehicles. Repairs included: concrete repair, structural repairs, waterproofing, and painting. The largest portion of the contract included replacing all of the pre-cast double-tee bearing pads throughout the entire garage. The existing rubber pads were either missing or destroyed. Carl Walker Construction provided a safe and effective construction plan to execute this very difficult task. The project was completed on time, safely, and within budget.

The Lottery building parking garage consists of all pre-cast concrete elements traditional to a pre-cast garage. CWC’s scope of work included: removing and replacing all of the concrete pour strips on all levels, replacing all bearing pads throughout garage, epoxy injection, removing and replacing all caulk joints, deck coating, painting, and line striping. The owner was able to shut down the entire garage for construction, which adhered to a very strict schedule. CWC completed all of the scope items early and was able to open the entire garage prior to required date.
